Here is a new prompt on dialogue.

H

Hello you, here is a prompt I wanted to write to practice my dialogue. Hope you enjoy.

Prompt: Write an argument between two people

“Hey hun,” Mike said into the thin slab of phone in his hands. “I’m worried about you, where are you?”

The phone was silent.

“Hun? What are doing right now, is the dog with you?” Mike pulled out the chair to the kitchen table and slid into it, resting his elbow on the hard wood.

“What do you want? ” The phone said.

“What do you mean, what do I want? I’m worried about you, where are you, did you take Charley with you? He needs to take his medicine Laurel.”

Laurel was silent.

“Laurel? Laurel, come on, say something for God’s sake.”

“What do you want me to say? What the hell do you care?”

Mike screwed up his face, then heard a faint whimpering on the other end of the phone. “Laurel?” Mike said, but then he realized she was crying and he slammed his fist on the table. “God dammit Laurel. Where are you? You have my freaking dog and he needs his medicine. You are acting ridiculous.”

” … ”

The phone gave a low hum.

“You have got to be kidding me.” Mike said, squeezing a button on the side of his phone and tried to manipulate the screen to call her back. But, after several attempts, he only reached that hollow noise that meant the other line was busy. Mike dropped the phone on the kitchen table and walked away exhausted and breathing heavily.

Buzz. The phone shook violently on the table top and its screen lit up. Mike took a breath before approaching it and looked at the screen, which displayed:

Laurel or My Old Lady

Mike manipulated the screen and put the phone to his ear.

“Hello?” Mike said.

” … ”

“Laurel?”

“What do you want?”

About the author

Caleb Jacobo

I’m a husband, father of five, and lifelong learner with a deep curiosity about how structured thinking can unlock deeper understanding and more effective problem-solving.

For over two decades, I’ve explored psychology, philosophy, technology, art, and faith—seeking patterns and connections across disciplines to build a cohesive, proof-based approach to thinking.

As someone on the autism spectrum, my mind naturally gravitates toward structure, systems, and deep analysis. Writing is how I refine my thoughts, clarify complex ideas, and ensure that insights are not just explored, but demonstrated and made applicable.

This blog is more than just a space for discussion—it is a living system for structured exploration, where creativity, business, philosophy, and personal growth intersect. Every post begins with my own thinking, and while I use digital tools to assist with clarity and organization, the reasoning, insights, and conclusions are entirely my own.

I write to think deeply, connect ideas across disciplines, and provide a structured framework that others can apply to their own work and lives. If that resonates with you, I hope you’ll stick around.
